I'm not a writer. I am a girl who verbalizes thoughts, dreams, hopes or ideas and puts them on paper. You may well say, "Doesn't that make you a writer?" And my response, every time, will be "No, I am merely a girl that writes." I am a runner. It is something I aspire to be, and not only to be, but to do well. Therefore I am a runner. I am a painter, because I enjoy painting, want to paint all day, every day, landscapes, portraits, images of beaches and of clouds and of me, to let my imagination go. Therefore I am a painter. And though I love writing, it is not my dream, it is not me, it is simply my imagination, and I love it because it frees room in my brain to do the other things I love. I am not a writer. I cannot call myself that. Not until my writing, my stories, become more than just an overflow of the remainder of my love for other things. Until then, no, I am not a writer, nor an author, nor a poet or anything such. I am simply a girl, who writes.
