Hello! I am looking for a book on Wattpad where the FMC is a black corporate woman who is also a single mother. The book begins where she is in the hospital narrating how she is feeling after just having her daughter. The majority of the book shows her healing journey from not wanting her daughter and not being to connect with her to coming to embrace herself as mother and subsequently her daughter. It’s still a romance books so she does have a love interest. The MMC is white and she is his boss. But he is not like an assistant or anything. He has a high title but she just happens to be over him. He ends up breaking down her walls (because she is a bit reserved and cold). He helps her to open up to her daughter and to heal. They start off as friends and fall in love along the way. It’s a really good book but I cannot remember the title for the life of me!
Here is a more detailed or succinct version of my request(I apologize if the first one seems convoluted!)
Body: Looking for a specific Wattpad romance book read a while back:
Genre/Tropes: BWWM, Workplace / Reverse Boss-Subordinate, Single Motherhood, Corporate Drama.
Opening Scene: Starts in media res in the hospital room right after she gives birth to her daughter. She narrates feeling detached and struggling to bond with the newborn.
The Core Conflict: Her demanding female boss/CEO denies her maternity leave and forces her back to the corporate office immediately after giving birth.
FMC: Black woman, high-ranking executive/CFO (name might be Charlotte). Known around the office for being cold, guarded, and career-driven.
MMC: White man, works under her at the company (name might be Gabriel). Warm, patient, notices her struggling, and helps her learn to care for/bond with her baby while breaking down her walls.
Baby's Father: A coworker/executive from her past.
