Brian Castle was raised in Georgia, but transplanted to Oregon in 2013. Rune & Claw is the first book he is publishing under his own name in the hopes of contributing a strong gay male hero to the Urban Fantasy genre. 

Inspired by the likes of Ilona Andrews, Jim Butcher, Terry Pratchett, and Ursula K LeGuinn, Brian has been reading Fantasy and Science Fiction since he was eight years old, when he received a copy of The Hobbit from his aunt Jane. Though he spent the first thirty years travelling, exploring, learning a mountain of hobby crafts from book binding to lapidary arts, and working largely as a Licensed Massage Therapist, writing books is the only things he's every really wanted to do and he has spent those years learning the craft of it. 

He lives in Hillsboro, Oregon now with his boyfriend Scott, who is the artistic director for local theatre company Bag & Baggage. When he isn't writing (which is not often) he is often taking in one of his boyfriend's clever adaptations of classic plays, playing with his adorable nephew, Ralph, or haunting Oregon's beaches or wilderness.
