Hi. Well, I've got two cats; Boots and Fluff who are brothers and as I write they are sitting on the dustbin outside my window. I have two children and, of course, I adore them. My daughter is a mum and a school teacher in Texas, and my son is something legal with an American firm here in London. But my family is also my friends and they are too many to name. I donate to Amnesty International, St Mungo's, CND, and an organisation which is feeding and educating a little girl in Bangladesh. I guess that puts me slightly left of centre, though I do not have any political affiliations. I don't believe in ism's. I think any political system could work if the people running it were sincere and totally honest. So I vote for the person who I believe is closest to that ideal. I believe we are all brothers and sisters, and that is uncompromising; we really are. So I don't believe in flags and countries. The world is round so we can slide all over it. I feel slightly guilty about not liking classical music. Something inside tells me I ought to, but though I've tried, it just won't come. I love the theatre, but rarely go because I am poor and the theatre is horrendously expensive. The most exciting theatrical moment in my life was one evening waiting for a play to begin when of all people, Darcy Bussle came and sat beside me. I can't remember a thing about the play. All I can remember is our shoulders touching! One thought I will leave you with is that ever since I was a teenager I have wanted to write a historical novel and over the years have started and abandoned hundreds, but then when I was thirty five something happened which is too long to go into here, but I discovered the novels I had been trying to write were not fiction. Whenever I could check, it turned out that the characters in the story had really lived. Need I say I believe in reincarnation? Well, I do, and since then that belief has shaped my life, as it shapes my poem. God bless and I hope you enjoy my poem. X
