Back in Germany, a substitute teacher at the school I used to attend had three new pups. One of them was Oreo; his older brother went to another family, but his sister had to be put down because her head (or brain, I don't remember) wasn't fully developed. My dad and I were the first ones to be with him as my mom and sisters were out of the country for a Girl Scout trip.
He escaped from our backyard like three times to come find me that day. Him and his friend Bailey (a little white dog that belonged to one of my mom's co-workers) got out of the house, ran all the way down the hill, and to the elementary school.
Him and Neeko, our tiny Chihuahua, got along great. He loved playing with our cat Saphira when we got her and Spitfire in May 2011. He snapped at the boy cats Rocket and Chaos when we got them in 2016.
Oreo followed everyone around, causing us to trip over him 24/7. Especially his favorite people- my parents. He loved taking Daddy Doggy naps whenever my Dad was home and fell asleep on the couch or on a recliner.
He's torn up so many toys; like 5 Mama Ducks, 1 Baby Duck, 1 or 2 Sock Monkeys, and the beak of his Goose Goose he got last Christmas. He would bark and get Neeko going when he heard my Dad get home from work or any car pass by. He tugged his leash so bad he would be coughing.
He hated fireworks, lighting, thunder and thunderstorms, and the vacuum. He would inhale all food in reach, including my mom's pizza once. Cheese, French Fries, and Vanilla Ice Cream were some of his favorite people foods. He loved the Ohio State Buckeyes, much to my mom's dismay.
My mom was with him when they put him down. She didn't want him to be in more pain since my Dad and I are out of town until Thursday night. He's no longer in pain and is with my Grandmother and my Uncle's dog Blaze, both whom passed this year too.
Rest in Peace Oreo
