After living in my head for a long time, Shayde Lawson has officially made her debut.

Shayde: Between Wars is now live.

This series follows a former soldier navigating small towns, unfinished wars, and the quiet moments that shape who we become after everything burns. There’s action. There’s loyalty. There’s history. And there are things no one walks away from unchanged.

The first story, “Shayde and Mason,” is up now, the beginning of something bigger than a bar fight.

I’m posting pieces from different eras of her life, so you’ll see Army days, aftermath, reunions, and the spaces in between.

If you love strong characters, moral grey zones, and stories where the quiet hits as hard as the chaos, I’d love for you to join me.

          	We’re just getting started.

I had an idea to write a short story involving a court Jester, as I Identify as one! But my brain shot out three ideas.
          1) In a medieval kingdom the Jester has to battle to save the king and queen.
          2) A court jester is brought to modern day and try’s to be a stand up comedian.
          3) a different idea. A man with the last name Jester, who works in a Court Meets a woman who is on trial and helps to prove her innocence.

Do any of these appeal to anyone?

I’m on holiday with my family and in the quiet moments I have been writing my version of a modern day adaptation of Bonnie and Clyde set in my superhero city of Brixton.
But to change things up I made Bonnie and Clyde their Lastnames!
Let’s hope I write a bit more than just the opening! Would any of you actually read that?

          Have a great day!
          Please be safe!
          Mell.

Hellllooo!

How do all of my fellow writers get past that point where a story loses steam?

How do you push through without staring something new? I started 3 stories last week and didn’t finish any of them!
(I write for the fun of it so it doesn’t really matter!)
Hope you have a great day!

I do this often. I have a great idea for book, get halfway through then hit a wall. I give it a few days, or just wait until something hits me then start again

Hello, there. How’s it going?

I know this might be kind of strange/awkward since we haven’t formally met, but would you mind giving me some honest feedback on my story “The City of Lost Souls”? Just a heads up, it’s a bit of a sensitive topic, so if you’re not into that, my book “Legends” is probably my best.

I can also give you feedback on one of your stories as well (preferably a shorter one in the works, opposed to a long one that is already complete), but I know not everyone is into the whole “read 4 read” thing.

If you’re interested, awesome. If not, please be respectful and simply don’t respond, and leave it at that. I don’t really know any other way to get more feedback on my story other than to just reach out and ask people up front, so yeah...

And if you’re wondering how I found you, like most cases on here it was through mutual followers

          Thanks.
