I’m pretty new too, I only started a couple of months ago...
But I do have a couple of tips:
Be yourself! Readers love people who are genuine
Write regularly. Your fanfiction will be added to way more reading lists and be voted more on if you update weekly, especially in the first couple of chapters.
Get noticed. Writing comments on other books(no self promo though) and writing relevant things on other peoples message boards (like ‘I love your book’) can get you more followers and reads. But no spam or irrelevant things.
Also, your passion will attract more readers. Keep doing what you do best!
