I am husband, father, journalist, blogger, novelist (without a book deal), cook, boozer... and Gashead. 
    What's a Gashead? It's one of the poor souls who follow the fortunes of Bristol Rovers football club, whose fortunes have sunk like a stone over recent years. I blog about them every week on the local Bristol newspaper website www.bristolpost.co.uk under the name Frankie Prince's Bovver Boots. It helps me pour out all the bitterness, frustration and angst. 
    What else? I once followed the England cricket team to Australia as a member of the Barmy Army and spent two months watching us lose all five Test matches. My American baseball team - who I have been fortunate to see live on a couple of occasions - is the Boston Red Sox, currently enjoying their worst season on record. A jinx? I guess I must be.
    Still, writing helps me handle all the ups and downs of life. I am married to wife Liz with daughters Jemma (31) and Olivia (4). I work in London, UK, on the sports desk of the Daily Star and also on the back bench of the Daily Star Sunday. Most of all though I like to think of myself as a writer. All I need is a lucky break. With my fortunes with my sporting teams, I think I just about deserve one
