I haven't uploaded in a month. No excuse other than being busy with life.

I'm nearing completion on the Sophia ending. Once I write the Sophia epilogue, I'm planning on taking a break from AItSF and hop on over to Pastel Rangers EXTRA for one quick story. Once that's done, I'm jumping back to AItSF. There's only two endings left in that story, and after that... Who knows?

Better late than never, as they say.

So I didn't just research Monster Hunter, I actually bought Monster Hunter Rise and played it as research for this Somnium. Which is why it took a whole month to get that chapter out there.

Now anyone who's played MH Rise might spot differences between the game and how the Somnium ended up. For example, Kagero's quest to slay 8 Izuchi isn't a standalone quest, it's a sidequest that can be done within any quest. Also, the Wirebugs don't need Jewel Lilies to pick up, those are only for Giant Wirebugs. And you certainly can't hang on to monsters, especially not with the sword and shield of the twinblades. You can ride them, but even that works differently in game than it did in the story. So what's with all these changes? Well, they were on purpose.
Remember, Somnia are world created by people's dreams. Dreams are never perfect, and often, finer details get missed. A lot.
There's also the fact that Aiba isn't part of the dream, so she isn't completely bound by the rules of the dream. This was seen in other video game themed Somnium in the games, where she was able to cheat to progress in them.

So yeah, that's why it took a month to research and write Shinobu's Somnium, and funnily enough also why it took another month for me to tell you why it took a month to get that chapter out. I'm still playing it. And I'm gonna continue playing it for a while because I've been having fun with it.

So, now to what I wanted to talk about. Sophia's Somnia is coming soon. And, it deals with heavy topics. It's all canon, but I am a little worried about Wattpad's community guidelines. That heavy topic will for sure push my story into 18+ territory, which is fine, but I'm afraid of it being taken down. I'll have to be... Careful. And if you're sensitive to that kind of thing, then, you might wanna skip her Somnia.

          That is all.

I have a ton of research to do.

I just realized that I don't know anything about Monster Hunter. Granted, I didn't know much about Call of Duty or other shooter games, but I didn't need to, I just needed some generic military shooter knowledge to write that half of Shinobu's Somnium. Monster Hunter has an entire world, characters, locations, weapon types, monsters, environments, it has so much more to offer, and I'd be doing a disservice to the franchise if I just hopped on the Monster Hunter Wiki and picked out a few random monsters for the other half of Shinobu's Somnium. Unlike generic military shooters, I actually respect the Monster Hunter franchise, even if I've never played it myself. Which is saying something considering I've actually played Call of Duty.

          So, all this to say, another hiatus while I do the proper research. I'm so sorry! ;-;

Ruby Weapon? Demolished. Emerald Weapon? Sank. Gold Chocobo? S Rank. Final Limit Breaks? Obtained. Ultimate weapons? Equipped. Shinra? Disbanded. And Sephiroth? Defeated. Meteor? Gone. World? Saved.

New story idea for Pastel*Rangers EXTRA? Nope. Neo Fantasy already exists, so Final Fantasy existing in the Bang Dream universe would break continuity.

All this is to say that I finished FF7 and I have no long RPGs planned so writing should temporarily get back on schedule. Why temporarily? Because I'm pretty busy for the next few weekends, and that all culminates with Anime Expo at the beginning of July. After that? Assuming I don't start a long RPG again, I should writing a lot more that I've been writing right now.

Thanks to all 5 or 6 people that have kept up with AI:tSF - ItA and have been very patient with the slow uploads. I especially thank you for your patience with waiting for the alternate Chapter 3-5. Writing Somnia takes a lot more time than writing regular chapters, especially given how long they are compared to them, so that was an especially long wait for that one, and again I thank everyone who waited for their patience.

As for my next game? Gunvolt 3. It's not an RPG so it shouldn't distract too much from writing.

I feel bad for slowing down on writing. I'm not unmotivated, I'm just distracted. Last time, it was Xenoblade 3, this time, it's Neo Fantasy- I mean, Final Fantasy 7. The original, not Rebirth. I don't have a PS5. It's hard to believe that even though I know a lot about the lore of FF7, I've never actually sat down and played the first one through to from beginning to end. Heck, I've played Crisis Core and not 7.

Anyway, I'm playing through the first Final Fantasy 7 and it's distracting me from writing more AI:tSF-ItA and I apologize for it. At least FF7 is not as long as Xenoblade 3 so I should get back to writing normally soon. Now if you excuse me, I need to breed Chocobos. I got the airship and found a crazy old man who might be hinting a way to get a Chocobo that can cross mountains.

So I just learned about this feature. I feel silly for posting updates within my stories, then deleting them. I wish I knew about this sooner. Well. Better late than never, as they say.

I'll be sure to make all of my announcements here from now on, as I should've been doing this whole time. I don't have anything to announce right now, except that I just discovered this feature. Hue he he.
