Better late than never, as they say.
So I didn't just research Monster Hunter, I actually bought Monster Hunter Rise and played it as research for this Somnium. Which is why it took a whole month to get that chapter out there.
Now anyone who's played MH Rise might spot differences between the game and how the Somnium ended up. For example, Kagero's quest to slay 8 Izuchi isn't a standalone quest, it's a sidequest that can be done within any quest. Also, the Wirebugs don't need Jewel Lilies to pick up, those are only for Giant Wirebugs. And you certainly can't hang on to monsters, especially not with the sword and shield of the twinblades. You can ride them, but even that works differently in game than it did in the story. So what's with all these changes? Well, they were on purpose.
Remember, Somnia are world created by people's dreams. Dreams are never perfect, and often, finer details get missed. A lot.
There's also the fact that Aiba isn't part of the dream, so she isn't completely bound by the rules of the dream. This was seen in other video game themed Somnium in the games, where she was able to cheat to progress in them.
So yeah, that's why it took a month to research and write Shinobu's Somnium, and funnily enough also why it took another month for me to tell you why it took a month to get that chapter out. I'm still playing it. And I'm gonna continue playing it for a while because I've been having fun with it.
So, now to what I wanted to talk about. Sophia's Somnia is coming soon. And, it deals with heavy topics. It's all canon, but I am a little worried about Wattpad's community guidelines. That heavy topic will for sure push my story into 18+ territory, which is fine, but I'm afraid of it being taken down. I'll have to be... Careful. And if you're sensitive to that kind of thing, then, you might wanna skip her Somnia.
That is all.
