Post-Finals update: Trapped Rewrite up to Chapter 3 is fully posted on AO3, and I'm in the middle of publishing Chapter 4. I've changed the update schedule to just Tuesday and Thursday so I can work on getting anything at all written for Chapter 5 by January (with a two week break in the middle). I'm hoping to have the entire Chapter 5 written by the time I post the first part in mid-January. Considering I'm now taking only two classes at uni for my next quarter I should be able to write a lot in the next three months! Academic comeback bringing the writing back with it too I guess...

          Trapped Rewrite Prologue and part 1 of Chapter 1 are posted on AO3 now! I think I'll stick to Tues/Thurs/Sat as my update schedule for now, just need to get cracking on finishing the next parts of Chapter 5 ahead of time so I can keep the schedule up. With this I'm projected to finish the first draft (around 15 chapters) in late April or early May, but that's wishful thinking knowing how infrequently I actually get any shit done...I'll be damned if I'm not trying my hardest to write consistently though. (And yeah, I'm writing at the expense of getting coursework done for uni and at the risk of failing all my classes but when am I not #undiagnosedadhd)
          
          Anyways I'm gonna try to figure out a schedule so I can get up and do something and not feel like a total disappointment by the time I go to bed every day, between actually attending my lectures and completing assignments and getting a few more words in to this project I started over 5 years ago.

Right...so I've finally become motivated to write again (I failed my midterms and need to do something while procrastinating getting schoolwork done + the state of the world/the US makes it hard to enjoy any hobby that isn't creative) and I've had an account on StoryForge, which is a small, indie (I think??) platform that's super cozy and everything, for a good while and I was thinking about finally cross-posting my stuff for Trapped to there but then I realized I could just cross-post to AO3 (literally nobody is reading this rn, and AO3 pushes recent work so there's more of a chance people will read my stuff on there compared to the weird algorithm on here) so I've come on here to say the short story/original version of Trapped is now cross-posted on AO3! I'm gonna work on putting out the parts I've written until now on there (the 19 parts that have been published here) while also finally making some onward progress with Chapter 5 so hopefully anyone who still cares will see an update in the next few weeks!

So...here's my once-a-year update announcement lol (let's hope it doesn't become that way and I actually find it in me to write these next few months...)
          
          I'm starting my second year of university in less than a month, and I'm not sure whether I'm more anxious to face new classes and attempt to socialize and make friends again or more impatient to just move in to my campus apartment already. Either way, I'm hoping to schedule in time to write and spend doing my hobbies rather than doom-scrolling and pushing off studying. If there's anyone reading this, let me know how you're doing lol

I haven't been on here in so long...but I'm back! The first part of Chapter 5 is scheduled to be posted next Wednesday at noon!
          
          I can't believe it's been 4 years already since I started this whole thing. I'm literally starting college in a few weeks, and so much has changed in my life since  the time I started writing Trapped. The plot has also changed, but that's for me to know (figure out) and you to find out (along with me, just maybe a few weeks later than I do).
          
          Also, it looks like I can keep to my posting schedule from last year, because I picked my classes in a way that I have a completely free day on Wednesday for now. Because of that, I've scheduled Chapter 5, Part 1 to be updated at noon instead of between 3 and 4 pm (Pacific). We'll see as time goes how well this works.

Chapter 4, part 3 is out now! I have also scheduled the publishing of part 4 so far, and I will be starting work on the next chapter in the next week.

So I updated Trapped yesterday but forgot to send out an announcement lol
          
          Also I only found out yesterday that you can schedule updates, and I'm not sure how long this has been possible but it helps a lot since I have the rest of Chapter 4 written already! I'm trying to stick to the biweekly updates, so I'll have a couple weeks until I really need to have the next part done but that's a worst case scenario, which basically just means I have time to write the first few parts of Chapter 5 while the rest of what I already have written comes out on schedule.

If you just got a notification that I updated, I didn't lol I just fixed an error I found. That being said, I finally finished writing Part 4 of Chapter 4 after not making any progress for the longest time. It's quite a bit longer than most other parts, but the next and hopefully final part of the chapter is going to be pretty short. I'll try to get back to updating either this week or the next, and we should hopefully be able to keep rolling soon.

I should have the next part of Trapped up in the first week of April! I’ve been really busy with my 3 AP classes and working on the theater musical, so I haven’t had time to write. Once I do, I’ll try to get ahead before updating so I can stick to my schedule!
