Ok so here are my thoughts on bwwm books. Of the girl is not 100% black and the guy isn't 100% white then the books shouldn't fall under this category. They should fall under the "interracial" category. Mixed race girls are not black regardless of what Americans believe. They can be proud of their black roots but they're mixed and everywhere else in the world that's an actual race on it's own. I'm just tired of picking up books that should be about black women only to end up reading about mixed women. Of course I have nothing against any person of any race, I just like reading books that are relatable to me. I'm a black woman and would like to read about chocolate, dark, brown women. As I've ranted before colorism is a cancer in our society. I just want writers to start writing about medium - dark skin black women. What are your thoughts? Comment below

@Bwwm101 I totally understand your point of view. Its like when mixed girls play black women roles like Storm in Xmen and Amandla as Starr in The Hate You Give. And yes they are awesome actors and characters but they cannot relate to you because they dont go through the same struggles that black women go through. However they are still black and sometimes are treated in a way similar to blacks. But I understand that you are not mixed so they don't connect with you in a way that a black main character would.
