💎1st place in THE SAPPHIRE AWARDS 2023 - Historical Fiction for The Stolen Crown 💎

History has always been in my blood. Growing up, I listened to the stories told by the elders of my ancestors who were at the forefront of events, from the settlement of Greenland, to the Jewish expulsion in Spain, and the Norwegian's assistance to the allied forces during WWII. It was no surprise then that I went on to graduate from the University of Arizona with a major in History focused on Medieval studies and a minor in Classics. My passion for the subject earned me honors from Phi Alpha Theta, the National academic History Society, and the desire to continue my research. Having been born in Norway, I decided to further pursue my heritage at the University of Edinburgh, where I obtained my diploma in Viking Studies, before expanding my career with extensive research in Europe, especially in Scandinavia, the primary location and source of much of my inspiration. I also participated in an archeological dig on the island of Gotland, Sweden, where I was part of a team that excavated a Viking age farmstead.

These experiences were instrumental in the development of my career as a historical writer, but did not come without challenges. Struggling with Dyslexia, a learning disability, made reading and writing a challenge that left me disadvantaged, and often led me to being bullied and ridiculed by both my peers and teachers. Over the years however, with the love and support of family, I have come to learn from and thrive with my differences. I have found that historical fiction is a bridge between history and these experiences, which is why I am so passionate about writing and bringing to light these forgotten tales.
