First Person: Think about it like this:
reality (slightly hidden) -> || prism || -> the narrator's perspective and thoughts (what the reader sees)
Third Person: Think about it this way. The diagram for first person is reversed for third person:

fortunately or unfortunately...no piece of writing is completely finished. There'll always be areas to smooth, improve and learn from. It's a pro-and-con, both at the same time.
Writing Secrets: good writers, know the rules and follow them. Great writers, break them. But the best writers, make new rules for their stories. Go figure!
