Caleb James is a former collegiate defensive tackle who played football at Rice University, Baylor University, and University of Mississippi. During his senior year at Ole Miss, his team made a deep postseason run to the Fiesta Bowl, finishing one win away from the national championship. His experiences as a student athlete competing at the highest level deeply inform the themes of ethical leadership, systemic pressures, and Christ-centered identity that shape the Spirit Warriors series.

Spirit Warriors was born out of Caleb's personal journey through faith, ambition, injury, loss, and transition. As his athletic path shifted, he wrestled with questions about his calling past trauma. This ultimately led him to trust God's calling even when it differed from his own plans. Those struggles became the foundation for a story that explores moral compromise, endurance under broken systems, and what it means to follow God in unrewarding situations.

Caleb is a devout follower of Jesus Christ and served with Athletes in Action throughout his college career. He also studied at Truett Seminary, where he gained deeper spiritual insights that he infuses into his stories. Spirit Warriors is both a long-running epic fantasy series, currently projected to span more than fifteen novels, and a ministry expressed through storytelling. A comic adaptation is underway with a planned 2026 release, and long-term hopes of expanding into animation.

When he is not writing, Caleb enjoys anime, sports, video games, reading, and Christian hip-hop. He plans to continue pouring into student athletes as a coach while building stories that challenge, encourage, and point readers toward hope.
