Recently, after reading other fics on this website, I've had an apiphany. These fics that I've read aren't on the same level of writing quality as Checkmate, COTE: The Eroge, and Motivated to be lazy + a few more of my favorites. But I've realized, I had the same level of enjoyement from those fics compared to the ones I've been reading recently.

          	Then it clicked.

I dont have to have 15, 20k word chapters like Rainsennin. I don't need to have crazy foreshadowing and intricately detailed plans like Kiku. I dont need to have supremely captivating and real dialogue like PL Obsidian. All of these fics they wrote are great, don't get me wrong, but I don't need to force myself to be on their level to make an enjoyable fic.

My goal when I started writing around a year ago was to make an enjoyable story. One that could be remembered in passing, like the fic that started the green tea trend. A fic that could reach the most people and put smiles on their faces. That's all I ever wanted.

But now I realized, as long as I put adequate care into what I'm writing, who cares if my fic doesnt take an hour to read. Who cares if the dialogue isnt as detailed as an irl convo. Who cares if the plans aren't actually genius level plans. As long as I poor my passion and creativity into it, the product should be at least somewhat acceptable.

I don't have to strive to be among the greats, because I know I'll never be able to reach their level.

Moral of the story: Don't compare or strive to be just like other people when it comes to writing. Imagine what you find enjoyable and let your fingers translate those thoughts into words for others to enjoy.

Sorry if im a bit incoherent it's 1 in the morning as lf writing this.
