I can finally get back to writing or at least I'm going to try lol ❤️ I've been doing my best to overcome my writer's block and, to be honest, it hasn't worked. I'm still at a loss for words, never know where to start or what to say but I'm trying the best I can. I think my main issue is that, I'm stuck in a mindset where everything has to be perfect that even when I try to write badly, I'm still blocked. I also notice I compare my writing to others a lot and that could be a main reason for my blockage as well.
I'm trying to teach myself to let go of that 'perfect or its not enough' mindset that I have. Its hard, but I'll get there eventually. ❤️

I understand and went through the same thing, one thing that helped me is realizing you don’t have to write a story from beginning to end. If there’s a scene you’re excited about, start there and fill in the gaps later. Also when you see something you like in another writer’s work, don’t compare yourself to them. Instead figure out what you like about it and add that tool to your own toolbox. Every writer has strengths they can learn from. Keep giving yourself grace, you’ll get there❤️

Writing is literally SO hard. Like, I know exactly how I want to start a chapter off — I know what I want to say but I don't know how to put it into words, how to make it vivid or feel real.
How do y'all do that? I could really use some help, bad lol.

@CODENAMEDECI For me, I just wing it. It's usually just a draft, so instead of frustrating myself and thinking what would sound "the best", I let myself have fun. When I'm having fun and not focusing on perfection, I imagine stuff wayyyy better. I write better that way.

I usually pretend that I’m within the chapter, as if I’m a character. It helps me envision what would happen next. It helps me understand what vibe I’m going for. Just take a second to picture in your mind what will happen next. Most people rush & just write something. If you were a character within the book or the audience, what would you imagine? Don’t chase the same storyline, add plot twists, use similes & metaphors. Challenge yourself to do something that you’re not used to. I think that may be why it’s hard to write something.

Stepping out of my comfort zone for a little while! I haven’t written anything outside of 90s-related stories in so long lol, but I’m giving it a try. Plus, I love JayDon real bad—he NEEDS some stories on hea.
