Here's a little preview of my new story 'What A Mother Wouldn't Want In A Son', PLEASE let me know what you think!
“Alright April, just one more push” the nurse encouraged April Royston as her husband held her hand for support. She breathed in deep and then let it out slowly as she forced herself to make that one last excruciating push.
“Great job April,” the nurse carried the crying little newborn over to the opposite side of the room to be cleaned. April’s husband kissed the top of her head, looking down at her smiling. All cleaned off and bundled up in a blue blanket, the nurse handed April her son. “Have you thought of a name?”
The couple looked at each other knowingly, before April turned toward the nurse again. “Sutter,” she announced, smiling.
“Sutter? Now that is a new one. I like it,” the nurse admitted. “With such a unique name I can only imagine the amazing person he will grow up to be.”
April’s eyes filled with tears; her hormones a jumbled mess. She looked down at the newest joy in her life, and wondered for a moment, how she had gotten so lucky.
