There are three different species of cassowary; the dwarf cassowary, the southern cassowary, and the northern cassowary.

The southern cassowary can stand at up to five feet tall.

The cassowary is ranked number one on the world' most deadliest birds.

The oldest confirmed cassowary was a northern cassowary in captivity; it lived 48 years.

Cassowaries are usually very timid and passive, but when threatened, they can leave their target in critical condition, or even dead.
