Yesterday, the Semifinals and Finals for KMEA (Kentucky Music Educators Association ) was hosted at Kroger Field in Louisville, KY. Marching bands that won to Semifinals at Regionals the previous week will perform there. My marching band got through to semifinals, which has only been done once in my school’s history in KMEA. We did extremely well, getting a distinguished rating of 80.85, the first distinguished rating in the history of the KMEA in my school district. We got 5th place in Semifinals, and 5th place in Finals. The directors of my band are proud that we have made it this far. Yesterday was the last time we would ever do it hat performance and it was our best run.

Some news I just realized wasn’t in here.
          	  
          	  The Semifinals and Finals were hosted at Kroger Field. Only, the Semis were for the 1A bands. There were different locations for the Semis so it wasn’t a fully packed contest in one area. We were the 5th place in both Semis and Finals. And we did get a distinguished rating of 80.85, the first in SHS history. And we are the first SHS band in the history of the school district to get into the Finals. There was another group in 2016 that made it Semis, but no farther.

Sad story of the day.
          
          My 8 year old dog died today somewhere between 4AM and 7AM. She had been puking and pooping blood since yesterday. We didn’t think much of it since she’s normally doing that after eating a loaf of bread, which is what she did the day before. We put her in her favorite blanket and put her in a trash bag to carry her. We then took her to my mom’s parents’ house to be buried. They have all my mother’s past pets buried there. So..
