Not going to lie, I've been feeling kind of demotivated to write lately. Like I found so many new fanfics to read and I started reading them instead of writing and now I think it's affecting my creativity. I keep thinking about other people's stories instead of mine. Is that normal? Does it count as plagiarism if I make my own fanfics based on other people's fanfics but change some details?

@CatJanaYT I literally started writing fanfic because of someone else’s. I read lots of them still, which helps me know A: what’s ‘in’ with the fandom, B: learn new writing skills and styles as previously mentioned, and C: opens my mind to new concepts I’d not considered before! I have a concept sheet I posted once and it took the idea of Joel being a shapeshifting alien, but for my version, he was just a shapeshifter. Of course, you can also always ask the creator, I believe. Clarifications are always important! ^i hope this helped, if not, feel free to entirely ignore everything I just said and I apologize for the ramble
