Hey All, I was recently asked a question that I wanted to share with my followers. First and foremost I am incredibly thankful for how much my following has grown. I remember logging in and seeing '3 Followers' and being so disappointed with myself. Now, It's quite unbelievable.
Someone recently asked me, "How fast did your story gain popularity?" in reference to Tom Kazansky: My Snowman. They also aksed, "How did you write and gain so many views?" and the truth is I don't know.
However, here is what I think helped...
1. MY FAVORITE movie finally became popular. I think it helps to write a fanfic thats fandom is quite demanding in the moment. Sometimes it can work the opposite way, theres not enough writing for a small fandom and once you write it it springs into action. I feel like I did this well, fell right in between and that is why my story became so popular. The first movie wasn't popular, the second was more popular. So, I think I wrote this story at the right time.
2. It was something I wanted to write. Readers can tell when you do and don't want to write something anymore. I enjoy writing Tom Kazansky: My Snowman. I based some things on my real life. Through the years I worked on this story, I've learned things about love, about how I love. Things about the world, and how I look at things. Sometimes I judge people too fast. I think the readers are able to connect with an author through a story. As I learn you readers learn. Which is something important.
3. Motivation: this doesn't mean that you have to conistantly update. God knows I don't. But if you want to continue the story, continue it. If not, don't. No one will hate you for that.
4. Make lots of parts: sometimes it flops sure. But the more you write the more views you get, even if its only a few per part. Then those views will make the algorithum push your story. You have to know the rules of the algorithum to break them kind of thing.
Theres more but I think this is how I'd answer. <3!
