By the fifth chapter, I realized it was no good even starting with typing up the original text. Since then it's only been an outline that I'm following, and I'm writing the chapters from scratch. I'm moving through the scenes quickly to keep it light and not draw out this project for too long, but also adding enough colour that the story begins to match my fond memories of it. I was awfully proud of the original at the time I wrote it, impressed my teachers and whatnot. Now I can see that my young ambition had more to do with that than my actual skill, lol.
