Hi.
It's been a while, right?
As you guys already know, my grandma had been very sick for the past few months. After the stroke she had earlier this year, she became bedridden and her condition gradually got worse. That's why I've been disappearing from both Pratilipi and Wattpad every now and then.
Earlier this month, we reached a point where we realized that keeping her with us was only making things harder for her. She had already fought so much.
With heavy hearts, and with the doctor's guidance, we said our final goodbyes and removed her from the ventilator. She passed away peacefully.
Looking at her, she almost looked... relieved.
I don't really know how to explain what I felt at that moment. It was like a hundred emotions hit me all at once. I guess I wasn't ready to imagine a world where I wouldn't get to see her anymore.
But at the same time, I knew we couldn't ask her to keep fighting just because we weren't ready to let her go.
The funeral is over now. The rituals are over too.
I'm still nowhere near ready to come back. Honestly, I don't think I wanted to come back this soon either.
But I need a distraction.
We all needed a distraction. I'm just choosing the one I'm most familiar with.
So... here I am again.
I don't know how consistent I'll be at first, but I do want to write again. I want to lose myself in my stories for a little while.
Hopefully, I'll be able to update more often from now on.
Thank you to everyone who checked up on me, sent me messages, prayed for my family, and simply waited.
It means more than you know.
Love,
Celeste.
