You are thinking that Magic and divinity are along the same lines when they are not. When God created the world, He never created magic. Never intended for it to be a thing. The only reason we even have this is because of what happened back in Genesis 6. A couple of his angels left their heavenly estate and mated with human women. They also taught us a lot of things we were never supposed to know. Their offspring are the demons we have today. Any magical powers a person gets, is from the fallen ones. From the enemy, and it's false. Magic isn't like what you see in movies or read in books. It doesn't happen naturally or is apart of nature. There is a reason that for the longest time, it was called the Dark Arts.

@ShinobiSakura Indeed, to me his/her word holds no real meaning beyond a few morals which are decent. But the thing that gets me most is how do you know that God said it's evil? Have you spoken to god or have you simply read books written by "believers" who believed what they thought was god's will?
If the theory about the creator is true, then how can any mortal presume to understand what God truly wants or doesn't like/ believes is evil? - A being so powerful it created everything that is in existence, including the ability for species to evolve from single cell organisms to the world we have today. Sentient, ever-changing creatures with free will and a vast number of galaxies with potentially an unknown number of different species and planets...

@Celibrimbor You are assuming Angels are devine. They are not. They are created beings just like us, though they are set a little higher then us. If magic wasn't evil, God himself wouldn't be so against to say to kill every sorcerer and magic wielder. It is bad. Ever watched the show Once Upon a time? That show had a saying that is pretty true. Magic Comes with a price.
You delve into that world, you slowly destroy yourself. No, I am not a Nephilim or a Fallen Angel, but then again I don't have to talk to one to know what is good and what isn't. If God says it's evil, then it's evil. There's no thinking about it. And saying that the Bible possibly stole from other religions is saying that God is not the creator at all, and his Word holds no valid.

@ShinobiSakura ah so because it is not something directly created by the creator, it is again somehow inherently evil and vastly different to divine power...

A being who supposedly created the world in 6/7 days but who's plan didn't have any foresight of things like nephilim being created when every being is given free will.. - how does man know that such were not meant to be? Because some people wrote some books hundreds of years ago - many of which steal their ideas from older religions by the way - books likely designed to control the masses and make the church richer.

Also I must ask, how do you know that it isn't anything like what is seen in films or books? Are you a nephilim or a demon? Because if not then you are talking about something that you don't really have any knowledge of - if magic is derived from the offspring of fallen angels, then it is at least part divine power, thus it stands to perfectly sound reason that it is not in its entirety for evil and can instead be a good thing
