Hi, my name is Tawney Greyson. I'm sixteen years old and I love to write and read. It's like an escape from the reality of life. Reading is a way to take myself away to a place that's not here and writing is a way to turn my feelings into words and feelings of other people. While I escape from the harsh reality of the world when I am writing. Reading is an escape, writing a wall.
I know from experience that life can be a living hell. Things don't turn out like you want. Families aren't all perfect. I was the little girl who would spend hours sitting dreaming that I would be a princess someday. But, as I got older, I realized I was far from ever having that chance.
I would get hold of any book I could. First A Series of Unfortunate Events, then Harry Potter. Through that fan base, I learned of Percy Jackson and Narnia. I soon read the Ascendance Trilogy and many more books like the Princess Bride.
As I got older, I would write my feelings down into a diary, and soon started writing poems. Before I realized it, I started writing songs too. It's a way to escape my horrible life and I know that for some people, even if I don't know them, or if they're not even real, life is great.
I began listening to music as an extra escape. Stuff like Black Veil Brides, Sleeping With Sirens, and Owl City. I have recently discovered wattpad through my foster sister, Olivia. She's fourteen years old and her wattpad is @I_Dont_Know_Me14.
I have a poem that I have made:
A wish on a star
A dream in her hand
Thoughts that will get her nowhere
Doubt in her mind
Fake in her smile
A girl who wants to be somewhere
A pretty laugh
A bright smile
But all of this is fake
She’s tired of being fake
She’s tired of being brave
She wants someone who understands
Her smiles still faked
And her laughs still forced
But her heart is bigger than most can see
A wish on a star
A dream in her mind
Thoughts that will bring her everywhere
