Black Lives Matter
Fuck the ‘All Lives Matter’ because while that’s true, people seem to have forgotten just what “ALL LIVES” means.
I’m white, I’m british, I’m privileged.
I’m not one of you, but I STAND with you. I HEAR you. I FEEL your pain. I SUPPORT you.
So what if our skin color isn’t the same? So what if our heritage is different? We are all human and no one deserves to be treated as less. Under the skin, we are all the same.
2020 is a year that should never have been. And yet here it is. 2020 is full of upheavals that we thought we were finally beginning to overcome. 2020 is the year we should all take a stand against injustice. 2020 is the year we all need to open our eyes.
Pride Month is more important than ever. It’s a month for the LGBTQ+ community but this year it stands as more. We’ve fought for so long and so hard to get where we are with LGBTQ+. People have been fighting longer still for equality for all races and ethnicities and minority groups. Pride is about more this year. Pride is about supporting everyone. Pride is about being able to be who you are without the threat of your life on the line.
How many innocent lives have to be taken before voices are heard? Is this really the kind of world we want to live in?
No one person is more important than another. No one race is more important than another. No one group is more important than another. No one ethnicity is more important than another. No one. Equality should be a human right not a law passed. But that’s not what we have.
In the USA, women got their voices heard in 1920. 100 years ago congress ratified the 19th amendment and women could vote. 100 years ago this year. This time, Black Lives should be seen as lives and not targets.
No matter how small, or how big your platform is, do everything you can to show support to the Black Lives Matter movement.

Stan Lee, the man who began it all, passed away at age 95. 10 years of Marvel movies, 10 years of cameos of our beloved Stan Lee. Cameos that we all looked out for in the movies, and cameos we will continue to look for in future movies before realizing with a pang to our hearts, that he won't be there. At least not as we all expect or hope for.
May we forever remember the man who started it all and gave us all a world with heroes of all shapes, sizes, backgrounds, genders and colors. A world, that while maybe fictional, has become reality with the on-screen heroes being nothing short of heroes in reality.
So my heart goes out to all those who had the absolute honor to know Stan Lee, to be related to him in any way. The MCU family, onscreen and off, who are sure to be feeling the loss as heavy as, if not heavier, than us. Stan's family, who are undoubtedly going to be feeling the loss heavier than any of us.
So, here is to the man, the legend, the soldier, and the complete, real life superhero.
May you rest forever in peace, but forever live on in our hearts. The legacy has been set, and all that’s left to say, is EXCELSIOR
