Hi, everyone!

          	There's a wonderful little project that @Funasticks_SC is doing, called 'Ready, Set, Ask!'

          	If you're looking to do interviews--maybe get yourself some new readers (always a good thing), then head on over to their profile and click on the first story there. Also attaching below the link that takes you to the book directly:

Hey bitch I have a question: can I @ you in the acknowledgements chapter of TACOL?

Mochi711

@Chatayer Ah yes, loving words like calling me an old wombat. So lovely.

            Because the good ole US of A likes to be nosy in some areas while being negligent in others. The IRS is always understaffed, and their systems don't go far enough to actually *know* what you're up to because of all the concessions in the tax code that changes every 4-8 years. So they rely on you to tell the truth, and their algorithm flags things that look suspicious based on previous filings. Then a person looks at it and determines if it's no big deal or if it requires an audit. The US knows a lot about us, but they don't actually care enough to put it all together because the separate federal agencies don't like each other and don't work together to share info. If they did, then people like me wouldn't have a job, or we'd have to pivot to becoming financial planners.

@Mochi711 Shut up, you old wombat. But I totes love you three.

            No, I mean you look at places like the UK and Canada where you have your taxes calculated and sent your way so that you know exactly what you need to pay--it's the convenience of it all which begs the question: why doesn't the US of A adopt this model as well?

@Chatayer Hehe love you too.

            There is no logic. The law is merely there so Uncle Sam and the justice system has another reason to go after you in case you're a gullible fool who thinks you'll get leniency of you report what you stole. Of course, the actual reporting for it isn't that easy to spot, it looks like an ordinary tax return. You won't really be saying you stole something, just that you earned more than usual. They won't know you stole anything unless they do an audit. If it was a petty theft, the chances of an audit are slim to none.
