            So yeah

If you really like him and that's the only thing bothering you, I'd give it time. Especially if he works and is very busy,  but if he's consistently ignoring your messages and it seems deliberate, I'd definitely feel the same as you. But no guy I've ever met has been good at texting, so maybe ask if calls and meet ups more as that may be more his thing and explain you need him to be better at communicating over text and see what he says. 
            
            If he cares about you he will listen, and you can both adjust to each others preferences a little. Communicating is key I think.
