Y'all know how there's that mathematical theorem about how you can always divide the remaining distance between you and your destination in half, and therefore never actually arrive?

Yeah. It's like that with chapters too. This next one's a doozie, already hitting 3400 words... maybe that's why it's take two months again... -_-

Well that'll be interesting. If y'all haven't heard, Wattpad was sold for $500mil

@HelynaL That much money, you think they could spare a little to get rid of the damn "This is where you keep track of your coins!" popup that takes over the Profile page when you launch it.. every time.. until you dismiss it by clicking on it, not even hitting Esc...

Hey everybody, just wanted to quickly say I haven't forgotten about R4R's. It's been pretty gnarly out here with all the wildfires, and then a few days ago, I go and get this spider bite that has been making me feel pretty bleh. A little better today, but... where's my radioactive superpowers?

HelynaL

@CheerflNihilstTatrTt Dang. Get better soon! Spiders and wildfires? This is getting weird! (sorry)

Hey everybody, 'school' starts this week for the kids, so I've been tied up getting things ready around the house and will be a little crazy getting them into their scheduled videoconferences and all that for a few days. I promise I haven't forgotten about all my fave authors out there and will catch up on R4R's.

And hey, if anyone wants to DM me and b*tch about remote learning and the accompanying chaos, go for it.

My niece had her first day at school recently, but it's presence lessons all around. The safety precautions are a true PITA ('cause, you know, little kids and "social distancing"? Ha!) but I can't imagine remote learning in our net-challenged IT backwater of Germany. You certainly have my sympathy.

@CheerflNihilstTatrTt Bon courage! I don't have any experience with that particular problem (I can b*tch about remote controlling telescopes maybe?) but I'm crossing my fingers for all of you!

So eight hours ago, I apparently received an email from the Wattpad forums with a "summary since your last visit" list of Share Your Story threads... and of course, the URL just redirects to the support article now. Here's hoping it was a one-off goof, and I don't start getting them every several days.

To quote my brother in law, "In my line of work, we fire people for that."

So interesting surprise, one of my readers, @csThor, has published the start of his own work citing Solace & Taproots as an inspiration. His focus is on the experience of an international citizen stuck in the US after all hell breaks loose, which I find quite intriguing and will be following with interest.

Considering the number of international readers I have, I thought it would be worth sharing! https://www.wattpad.com/story/236269274-working-title-the-foreigner
