okay this is attempt #16525634 of trying to go a whole year without romantically talking to anyone

Let's see how far I last

Blonde_4eader

@ Chilea even if it didn't, you can proudly say you managed to not romantically talk to anyone for a certain amount of months or weeks or days or hours or minutes or seconds, so that's a pro

Highly unpopular opinion:

House of Hades is the most boring book in Heroes of Olympus. I thought maybe I would appreciate the Percabeth Tartarus scenes during this reread, but they're honestly a drag

I think Tartarus is too boring lol. I know it's a lot of people's favorite and I totally get why, I just personally don't like it that much

@Chilea Tbh I think it would have been a better (although maybe still a little boring) decision to not show Percabeth in tartarus but instead show the aftermath of it. Write them being traumatized without showing what traumatized them because that builds more fear. Tartarus was this sort of "big bad threat" that was never shown on page and I think that's part of the appeal of what makes it scary, and giving a canon appearance to Tartarus sort of killed the mystery a little bit (also not a huge fan of how it ended up being a stereotypical "fire and brimstone" place where the air was sulfur etc. Imo it would have been more exciting to have it be psychologically damaging like several of the punishments that are in greek mythology such as tantalus)
