What if pokemon were once normal things and creatures we'd see in our everyday lives? What if there was an experiment that had gone wrong and had radioactive chemicals? Would that explain the powers pokemon have? If so, what would have happened to Deoxys or Rayquaza? Or even Kartana or Nihilego? What if Nihilego used to be a plain moon jellyfish and the chemicals went into the water? Kartana a could have been a normal origami project until a member of the team that was working with the chemicals came home.
