Grrrrrr I hate writing the last chapters of a book :')

ChromeDok

@ConsciousRoyal It's such a bittersweet feeling, isn't it? :')

@ChromeDok Me too!

            Writing the final chapter of Heists at the moment. Just really hoping everything ties up.

I've been busy lately with work + writing the last few chapters of DLS, so I haven't read as much (online at least)
          Right now I'm focused on keeping up with my ongoing current reads. But fear not, I'll soon start new stories

That feeling when you upload fluff and are so excited for your readers, then go back to writing conflict 10 chapters ahead

ChromeDok

@petalandsnowink definitely not weird! :) the fluff feels more earned when it's faught for. doesn't make it any easier to write the conflict, though :')

@ChromeDok But the conflict makes the fluff extra fluffy later! Sometimes after I read the conflict and angst, I go back and read the fluff and the butterflies are like 10x stronger! Makes my heart ache over the conflict twice as hard, too. Maybe I'm a weirdo though!

I'm at a crossroads plotwise, and it's annoyingly hard to choose which path to follow: the one I had in my mind since I started writing the story, or the one the characters are forcing me to follow
          Of course the right answer is clear. It still hurts to throw in the trash an idea I had in the back of my mind for years lol Maybe I'll write a short story/AU thingy when the main story is done

ChromeDok

@dearpacificday oh yeah, not only in writing but also life in general

@ChromeDok regardless of your choice in the end, what I've learned is it always works out for the best. So don't put pressure on yourself too much!

@BashfulHeretic definitely! I do a gross outlining on my notes, then wing it for the most of it, but sometimes it's impossible to go as planned

I've written two thirds of Dirty Little Secret, and the manuscript is already sitting at nearly 70k words. I'm aware YA novels are usually 60-80k. I'm also aware mine will be longer than that, because there's a lot to happen in part 3 yet.
          I know I should cut down on what I've written so far, and be more selective on what I write from here on. There are some arcs that might not be necessary, as much as I want to dwelve into them.
          Then, I realised something: this is Wattpad, not a publishing house. I can write as much as I want, especially because I believe my readers will enjoy the "director's cut" version. If I ever decide to try and formally publish this (I highly doubt it, though), I will edit and cut it down, otherwise no editor would ever consider it. But for now, I'll just keep this book what it's been so far: the story that got me back to writing.

@debbigal thank you!! I really appreciate your support :)

@ChromeDok Its fine,you would get a publisher to read your work one day(It would be a crime if they don't)
            Just do what you like and believe in yourself.

            Now back on my mission to catch up on your story.
            Justin I am coming back to you

@debbigal thank you so much! It really means a lot ^o^
            I'm portuguese. If I'd want to publish my book traditionally here, I'd have to transalate it because that's how publishers from here work. However, I don't know if the story would land as well in my native tongue due to the amount of geek culture references ahah Unless I sent it to international publishers, which would be even harder to get accepted than smaller, national ones
