My first inspiration was John Buchan, author of 'The 39 Steps', who wrote thus in the book's synopsis: "During an illness last winter I exhausted my store of those aids to cheerfulness (novels), and was driven to write one for myself." This line was what drove me to start in the first place, and the idea that I can create something of my own when none of my favourite authors have any work out to enjoy always appeals to me, even if these efforts are somewhat preposterous and ridiculous.
I enjoy writing about football (the real one) and the stories of the people who inhabit its peculiar world. I am working on some other ideas as well at present, to appeal to a broader demographic than sports fanatics alone. Though I am not so regular as I like to be with my writing, I do attempt to give it my best shot whenever I take it up. The final word on that rests with the reader, and I hope they have a good one.
