What we know about the series
It was a Wattpad romance.
You remember it being ranked very highly in Romance, possibly around #4 or #10.
You read it before 2025, most likely 2024 or early 2025.
It was marked Mature.
It had 35+ chapters, or at least quite a lot of chapters. The story was completed.
There were two separate books, both completed. The second book was about the first book's best friend's relationship rather than being a continuation centered on the original couple. The books were not linked together directly on Wattpad, as far as you remember. The covers were dark/neutral, definitely not mainly white.
Main female character
She was a nurse.
Her name was long and somewhat exotic.
You think her name might have contained a C, but you're not sure. She and Iris were best friends. You think she and Iris may have grown up together in an orphanage.
They used to go onto the roof and look at the stars together. She eventually dates the main male character. She wore his hockey jersey.
You remember that she had nipple piercings.
She and the main male character went motorcycle riding at one point.
Main male character
He was a hockey player.
He wasn't playing school/college hockey.
He was an adult, probably somewhere in his 20s.
He was the captain of his hockey team.
You don't remember his name.
During a hockey game, he got injured.
The main girl barged onto the ice/past security to get to him and provide medical help.
Eventually, he and the nurse became a couple.
He wore a hockey jersey that the main girl wore.

He repeatedly asked Iris to date him.
He smoked at first.
Iris told him she wouldn't kiss someone who smoked because of concerns about secondhand smoke.
He eventually quit smoking because of Iris.
His sister was surprised/annoyed because she'd apparently been asking him to quit for a long time, but he only did it when a girl asked him to.
He and Iris eventually started dating.
At some point, he was living with Iris.
Iris made him sign a relationship contract.
The contract wasn't sexual in nature, as far as you remember.
There was a rule involving something like kissing her goodnight or possibly sleeping in the same bed.
There was also something involving him putting/displaying his hockey jersey in their bedroom.
His sister
His sister's name started with K, possibly Kayla.
One of his best friends eventually started dating his sister.
He became extremely angry and tried to fight the guy who was dating his sister.
This happened in Book 2.
The auction/date scene
There was an auction involving a date with the main hockey player.
Iris bought the date.
She didn't actually want to go on the date.
She bought it specifically because she didn't want another girl/person to get the date with him.
Reporter / pizza-shop scene
One of the main girl's friends had a girlfriend who was a reporter.
There was an annoying girl who insulted Iris indirectly.
You think this girl may have been the reporter or connected to the reporter.
Everyone was at a pizza shop.
Iris and someone else went into the bathroom and did a sort of deep dive/investigation on the annoying girl.
They came back and exposed embarrassing information about her, including that she had been doing adult dancing for money

Iris
Iris is probably the most useful clue, because she gets the second book.
You think her name was Iris.
You remember her having a long last name, but don't know what it was.
She was the main girl's best friend.
She may also have grown up in the same orphanage.
She was somewhat cold/blunt and didn't seem very emotional.
She didn't really have family.
She worked for a technology company.
She had grown up poor and had worked hard to become successful.
She had a large black dog, something like a pit bull.
You think the dog's name was something sweet like Princess.
At one point, Iris thought the dog was sick and became extremely upset because she thought something was wrong.
You remember this being significant because Iris cried, and it was unusual for her to cry.
The dog eventually had puppies, or that's how you remember it.
Iris didn't want to date the hockey player's best friend at first.
She repeatedly rejected him/turned him down.
Iris's personality / scenes
Iris had a very blunt way of speaking.
She had a belief that people who curse do so because they aren't intelligent enough to think of better words/replacements.
There was a reporter who had interviewed Iris approximately two years earlier.
The reporter asked Iris an inspirational-type question about what motivates her/keeps her going.
Iris answered something along the lines of poor people.
She later explained that she said that because she had grown up poor and had to work hard to get where she was.
Main boy's best friend
He was the main male character's best friend.
He was also a hockey player.
He became Iris's love interest in Book 2.
