okay so basically I'm struggling to find any motivation to write original stories these past weeks, due to a break I'm still struggling to recover from and some real life stuffs
          
          The only solution I found is to write a Super Mario 64 adaptation, done in my own way. In fact, the prologue is already out!

Four months in and I still don't know/understand if the Elemental Orbs is recommended by Wattpad's algorithm, nor if I have regular readers each time I post a chapter. I have some views, but no feedback at all and it makes the whole thing complicated. FanFiction.net is barely better - I have more views and some people followed the story, but no feedback too.
          
          My (very) inconsistent posting schedule probably doesn't help, and I'm also very inconsistent at reading and commenting other people's stories, but I still feel like it got harder to get readers nowadays compared to how it was a few years ago. I might be wrong - and I probably am, since I wasn't there at the time - it's just a feeling that I have when I read stories from pre-covid years.
          But given how much time I've put into writing, finding the best plot possible, fixing every flaws I was able to find, and translating the whole story for other people besides my french friends to read it - ngl, putting so much time and effort, and getting only this amount of views and no feedback is really, really demotivating, and sometimes I felt like stopping and doing something else.

Still, I won't stop. Even though my motivation in writing had dropped these last weeks (and the fact that I had other stuff to deal with irl), I'm slowly getting back into it. In the end, it's still a passion and one of my favorite hobby. I still have a LOT of ideas about Mario and Pokemon fanfictions. Idk when I'll be able to put these ideas into an actual story. I don't care if I don't get any views, I'll still do it on my side - I mean, I can still enjoy my own stories, and I know my friends will read them as well.
            
            Since I'm lacking of visibility, might as well do my self-promotion (idk if this will work, but it doesn't cost anything to try)
            I'm more active on Twitter than Wattpad, where I've made an account 2 months ago. My @ is thatwritercind. So far I'm mostly talking about Mario stuff, I love talking with people, so if you see one of my tweets, don't hesitate to interact, I'd love doing so.
            
            Idk if someone will ever read this - I did it for myself and to post random thoughts - but if someone reached this part, thanks for doing so, and thanks to my readers. Maybe, one day, I'll get a number of views equivalent to the efforts I've put into this mess. Maybe.
