You are scrolling on YouTube, it is 2016 and you decide to look on the trending page.
You see a page titled ‘MAKING MOTH AND BUTTERFLY SLIME!!!’ followed by an army of emojis.
Deciding that you have nothing better to do, you click the video. A crudely edited intro of a girl starts playing.
She has pigtails that reach just below her shoulders, and the tips are dyed pink. After the 30~ second intro, you see caterpillars crawling across a leaf.
The child’s hand scoops them up, she is smiling gleefully. She places them into a large net.
This has peaked your interest, you start scrolling to see the comment section, before the video captivates you again half way.
The girl is now speaking, showing you her vast collection of cocoons. It’s been a few weeks from the last clip. She snaps one off, and grabs a small pocketknife.
Slicing open the cocoon into a bowl, you are horrified.
The gooey slime of melted, transforming caterpillars slip out of the cocoon into the bowl. It was red, and you could see a select few body parts.
She giggles, and speaks.
“Wow! That’s so~o~o~o~o~o slimy!!!”
She rubs her finger into the gooey mass, before repeating the process to more of the helpless bugs.
You stifle a scream, and quickly try and find the report button, only to find it gone.
You are scrolling into the comment section, scanning the comments.
They all read: “Wow, That’s so~o~o~o~o~o~o slimy!!!”
You scroll up to see the screen. She is pouring red glitter in, whispering ‘ooohs’ and ‘aaahs’ under her breath.
You are mesmerized. You can’t stop watching. She starts playing with it, her hands dyed red and orange.
She puts it into a container, and puts in into a shelf with many other slime containers.
You are terrified. And see another video of hers.
‘Making HUMAN SLIME!!!!!!’ there are more emojis.
You delete YouTube, and curl up in your bed, weeping.
