Heya everyone!

I am a 29 year old female who loves to write. I started writing stories in first grade. I had been struggling with a lot in my life and felt that I couldn't talk to anyone about it. I would write stories where my characters would experience things similar to my life to gain a new perspective, hoping that as my characters found their peace I would find mine. 

I wrote as a way to compartmentalize my life, and sometimes forget it completely. Over the years I filled cases and cases of notebooks with my stories.   When I turned 17 I decided I wanted to make something of my writing and attempted to publish my very first book. For the first time, I was truly proud of something I had created. 

I submitted my final draft to a publisher and waited. Eventually, I received a contract back, offering to publish my book. However, I was young and naive and didn't realize that the contract wasn't real and that my book had never made it to the publisher. 

The contract tried to have me sign over the rights for my story to the "publisher" and thinking that this was how things worked, I nearly agreed. 
  
Thankfully I was able to stop the person and file charges. From that point on I had such a hard time sharing my writing. I would write on my blog, but never share my stories, worried that I'd be tricked into surrendering them. 

Here, I have finally found a place where I can feel confident sharing my stories, and I thank all of you for that.
