Why would American police do that? 
          Honestly when a man says "I cant breathe" you get off him not choke him to death. Just because he didn't want to be arrested. The police should have had more control and said "well if you don't want to get arrested, we will follow you to the car and we will take you down to the station." 
          That poor mans family is really distraught, and the police force wonder why people hate them so much and call them names its because of the stupid acts that they make.
          
          Honestly police officers should get the same punishment like everyone else who kill people.  They should go to jail for life because them not going to jail is just plain wrong
