Thomas knows it was O’Brien who hit Charlotte due to the marks and injuries. He hesitates to tell Robert or Cora as O’Brien has blackmailed him about his secrets for fear of losing his job. Thomas heals Charlotte without O’Brien and feels guilty about not protecting her. He finally tells lord and Lady Grantham who hurt Charlotte. O’Brien gets upset and turns violent but is arrested. Hope you like that idea.

Do one where Baxter dies during the fire or from suicide having had enough of Coyle and Thomas’s blackmail. Thomas cries out of guilt and grief. Cora struggles to find a new ladies maid for her.
