I updated chapter one of LUST--reworked it a little, etc. Check it out!

A little something I'm working on, I'll probably post this one as I write it, just because!

          ...

Frey hid crouched behind the pair of barrels nearest to her and reached for the pair of daggers she had hidden under her dress. She eyed the two soldiers who had taken over the airship as they came closer to where she hid and wondered how she always, always got herself into these situations.

Before she could even begin to think about how weird her luck was, the soldiers passed by, leaving them open and vulnerable for Frey to incapacitate them and get some answers. Quietly, she snuck behind the first soldier and sharply kicked the back of his knee, bringing him to the ground and giving her enough time to kick away his sword.

The other soldier was too in shock to react, so she swiftly disarmed him as well; then pointed his stolen longsword toward him. His companion was still unable to walk, but he still attempted to crawl his way back to his weapon until Frey brought her foot down on his other knee, cautioning him to stop moving.

“Now,” she said, “which one of you idiots is going to tell me what’s going on?”

The two obviously very untrained soldiers looked at each other, just a hint of fear in their eyes and shrugged. Annoyed, Frey stepped down on the first soldier’s knee, hoping that a little bit of pain would loosen their tongues.

It worked. The soldier groaned and stammered, “W-we don’t know much, really! The captain just said to take control of the ship until we got some information from you. We weren’t going to hurt you, I swear!”

From behind her a voice said, “Useless. Both of you.”

Before she could even spin to see who was speaking, she was grabbed roughly from behind and shoved toward the open edge of the airship. She toppled on the edge, managing to just catch a glimpse of the man who had snuck up on her, before losing her balance entirely.

She was free falling for what seemed like forever until suddenly, everything was black.

@Corrisha When I was preparing to write Winds, I read a bunch of Conan novels (as the fight scenes were sword & sorcery). I also skimmed through Gavin's book on the subject: http://my.w.tt/UiNb/L1BdHR3tpC

I posted a preview for my next story in my "About Me," but here it is in case you missed it!

          ...

          “...Juliette?”

His concerned voice broke her out of her inner ramblings and she blinked a few times, feeling a little embarrassed for not paying attention. “Oh, I apologize, Klaus,” she flashed him a charming grin, “It seems as though your good looks have once again distracted me.”

He chuckled lightly, quite used to her flirtatious nature by now, and decided to return the favor. “I must admit, Juliette, that your stunning smile has more than once diverged my train of thought. One of these afternoons by the river we will have to bring a picnic lunch so that I can enjoy your beauty in the sunlight.”

Her cheeks tinged pink, not anticipating Klaus to partake in her games. Perhaps, she thought, Klaus was more playful than she had originally assumed. “Klaus, dear, if you truly want to admire me that badly, we can skip the getting-to-know you stage and get right to the love-making.” She winked for good measure, hoping to throw Klaus off-guard enough to maintain control in the power-play they were currently engaging in.

Klaus chuckled to himself, Juliette was playing a dangerous game and oblivious to the fact that she was the rooky here. He intended to call her bluff and stood up, offering her his hand. “Well, if you’re sure, I won’t say no to ravishing a lovely young woman.”

Thanks for your adding your book to my reading list!

Hope you have a good day ^-^

No problem! Excited to read it. Since I write for HM sometimes I like finding other stories for inspiration. Although it's hard as hell to find a finished one on here!

I hope you have a good day as well! ^^

Rio is *finished.* All that's left for me to do is finish editing the chapters (I think I'm on chapter 7 now), add in a few more details to the shorter chapters, then write the epilogue! :D On to the next!

Halcyon_Eve

@Corrisha Yay! Congrats! :D
