Undead continued to pour out of the portals. Faster and faster they came, easily outnumbering the living five to one. The boy would take a glance to the girl; as if evaluating her reaction to the Festival. "Welcome to the Festival of Life." He said to her, his tone bitter and cold. He'd pull his arm from her grip before stepping off the rune. "Do not leave the rune unless you plan to be attacked." He stated simply, a small army already heading towards the new blood.

All at once the place would grow silent. Then suddenly, portals ripped open within each arch. A small amount of time passed before anybody moved. Then suddenly a small white head popped out of a near portal. Then chaos. Dozens of rotten bones and ethereal beings poured out from the portals; each to be met with a spell or weapon. This was not like any other Festival. If Rah where to look at the boy, he would look calm despite the chaos around the two.

The boy would would lead the girl through the centre of the Festival to where there was a clearing of stone, runes etched upon it. The people dressed in grey had placed the stones before each arch, easily twenty throughout town. As if in que, the rune beneath the two lit up; into an E.

As his hand left hers the people would all turn, their blank faces staring down the pair. At this the boy took her hand once more. "Unless you have the Invitation handy, you need to stay very, very close." He murmured so only she could hear. As he took her hand the people would gradually return to business, lighting candles and placing flowers by arches. People dressed in grey came into view, each holding a large stone in their hands. The boys grip tightened.

By the point the pair would near the centre of town the Festival would become apparent. Large arches covered where placed randomly, a set of candles at their base. Everything looked the exact same, simply moved elsewhere. As the pair passed the first dozen of arches people would come into view. At this the boy would pause, grabbing Rahs hand and keeping her next to him as they walked.

The boy stayed quiet for a good while before suddenly pushing off the tree. "Come, now. We shan't miss the Festival." He murmured almost to himself. By this point it was becoming obvious that the boy had mixed feelings about the celebration. Perhaps this is why his mansion was on the outskirts of town?

The boy leaned against tree near the fountain, looking off towards the centre of town, plumes of smoke rising from it. "If this where a normal festival you would see that. The cheer, the celebrations. But this is the celebration of Life." He said almost to himself. The way he said Life was odd, dark even.

By this point the boy had begun to guess that the girl was not here for the Festival at all. "All life. What a silly question. The Festival celebrates life and death, and the journey between." He explained briefly. At the end of the sentence however, one would notice his demeanor grow slightly.. darker.

"What a wonderful Festival it is." He said as he led her down the windy road towards the centre of town. houses lined the road behind the pair as well as in front of them. Every house looked the same, and if Rah would notice, there had yet to be another Mansion like the boys.
