Naya Rivera.
If anyone has watched Glee, then you’ll probably know her as Santana Lopez. She has been confirmed dead after going missing during a boating trip with her 4-year-old son.
I am so deeply saddened by this news. Glee is one of those shows that I always rewatch. Her character, Santana, provided representation for me and my family. As we are Latina. I also loved how her character didn’t scream “gay”. Don’t get me wrong, I love Kurt. He’s one of my favorite characters if not my favorite. But he does follow a lot of the gay stereotypes. Santana doesn’t. She shows that not all LGBTQ+ people are the same. We all have different personalities. We all look different. And that’s okay.
Of course I didn’t know her personally, but she is a big part of my childhood. And I bet she was an amazing person. Definitely taken way too soon.
My sincerest condolences to her family. I can’t even begin to imagine their pain.
I’ll being posting a new chapter on my Jarchie book by the end of Tuesday, and then I will go back to focusing on my Deception book (as I will be entering it into the Wattys 2020).
2020 has been filled with so much pain. So please. Take care of yourselves. Much love ❤️
