Story time!! 
          So, like a week ago my mom and I were arguing over the fact that I wanted to wear a suit to an event, and she basically tried to convince me I was trans (male) (I was kinda pissed abt it) and I finally convinced her that I wasn’t, but that talk made me start thinking. I was like “well, I like a lot of boyish things, I act kinda boyish sometimes, and I dress masc, but I still don’t feel like a boy… but maybe not quite a girl” 
          I felt like she/they would fit, but I’m not surrounded by a ton of overly supportive people (particularly of trans ppl) and I didn’t have a word for it so I kept it to myself. I finally remembered this term I heard in a fanfic I read abt a month ago “demigirl” and I looked into it and that’s me! Just figured I’d let you guys know since I don’t really have many ppl to talk to abt it 
          Also I would like to note that while my mom was fully prepared to support me being a boy, she also thinks it would be easier “for the family” if I was straight, knows essentially nothing abt the LGBTQIA+ community and wouldn’t understand what a demigirl even is so I prob won’t tell her anytime soon
