Matthew Murdock is a blind lawyer from Hell’s Kitchen who lives a double life as the vigilante Daredevil. By day, he defends the innocent in the courtroom, believing in the law and its promise of justice. By night, he becomes what the law cannot — a masked protector who hunts criminals in the shadows.
Blinded as a child in an accident that heightened his remaining senses to superhuman levels, Matt perceives the world through sound, heartbeat, and motion. Trained by a ruthless mentor, he turned his disability into a weapon, mastering combat and using his “radar sense” to navigate a city that never truly sleeps.
At his core, Matt is driven by faith, guilt, and an overwhelming need to protect others, even at the cost of himself. He is compassionate, self-sacrificing, and deeply conflicted — a man who wants peace but only knows how to survive through violence. His greatest battle is not with criminals, but with his own belief that suffering is the price of doing good.
In every life he touches, Matt Murdock is both salvation and storm: a hero who saves the city, and a man who slowly destroys himself to do it.
