Just finished saving the rough draft of my mentee's book to my Kindle, so I can continue to enjoy it and look after her after the mentorship... until she's ready for Round 2. I hope she considers publishing the story here one day; it's really an interesting concept—and it sparked my escapism project. Being a Boot Camp Mentor is my big win for this year (it took me four years), so it's time to kick back and start enjoying some reading while waiting to hear back from companies--and maybe catch up on some of my Pokémon games--LOL!

Love you all, and may the Force be with you! I'm a silent reader, especially with the new Updates feature here, but I'm reading stories, and who knows? The ones I enjoy may get a spot on my Reading Lists and a shout-out. :)

Nothing like hitting writer's block when you have three chapters left of your story. I still think I can get it done in a few more weeks (my goal is the third or fourth week of August), but we'll see what this writer's block decides. :)

@CroodsGirl I hate when that happens!

@CroodsGirl Aw man, that sucks. I've never had that happen, but I do hope you get out of the writer's block. What I suggest is reading a book similar to your idea / genre and read it until you get an idea. Good luck!

Today was my official last session with my Boot Camp Mentee. Three months of hard work for both of us, and now I suddenly have all this time and don't know what to do with it. I guess I'll slowly get back into reading and finish the escapism project. I definitely learned a lot, though, and I think I did help my mentee, so that feels good. :)

@CroodsGirl Thanks for all of your words of wisdom, Viktoria :) It was fun being your mentee.

Hey, guys! Sorry for the slight delay with updates on the escapism project. I'm actually working on the Epilogue before the last three chapters, though, to help with the direction the story took, and am almost finished with it. Once I finish the Epilogue, I can get back into the climax.

I'm also seeing someone right now (he's a Navy guy), so that may have contributed to the slight delay, too. But rest assured, I am finishing this story. :)

Hey, guys! My session with the Boot Camp Mentors ends next week, so hopefully I'll finally have more time to catch up on reading here! I was going to take a little time off after I finish my escapism project and session with my mentee. :)

It took four days, but I finally got the first 500 words of the escapism project's next chapter finished--LOL! I try to aim for 100 words a day if I can't get 500, which is usually my goal, unless I have writer's block. And the only reason I have slight writer's block is that I made some changes to the ending and the villain. I hope to get the next chapter up soon, though! This one explores the consequences of the conspiracy before jumping into the final battle. :)

I've made it to the climax of Ashes of The Way! Such a fun story; I'm sad that it's almost over. The only problem is that the story's changed a little from what I had originally planned, so I need to rewrite the climax to fit these changes. I've got the second half of it planned, but not the first, so the next chapter may take a little longer. I'm liking the team I put together, though!

It took some searching, but I think I found another company to submit Claxton and The Curse of Poseidon to for possible publication that fits them better. I still regret not accepting that other deal, but it just wasn't the right fit for me.

So, I'm waiting to hear back from two more companies now. I've worked very hard on these stories for the past year and a half; a lot of it is just finding the right company right now. :)
