A short flash fiction collection is up, guys: Unboxing the Future! As its name suggests, it contains a couple of coming-of-age stories, one of which is based on a true story. I hope you enjoy it! This isn't a Shortys entry; it's just for fun. :)

Hey, everyone! I hope you're having a good day! I'm still taking a break from Wattpad this month, but I've been reading some stories over on my backup account, @GuardianOfTheSun1, and am slowly working on the final chapters of Ashes of The Way. I'm going to work on The Ghost of Ontario a little this afternoon and work from home tomorrow. I have some classes I need to catch up on for work since I was out for five days. I'll keep checking in, though. :)

STORY TIME! THIS IS A GOOD, LONG ONE.

Hey, guys! I have a great story to share about my trip to Maine last Saturday. I want to share it because it's so good. This is short-story material, and I'm dubbing it "American Horror Story II".

So, I left last Saturday. My flight out of Charleston was scheduled for 8:12-8:15, so I went to the airport early (my ADHD brain acts up when it comes to flying). I boarded the plane with 150+ other passengers (American Airlines) and had a tight connection in Charlotte, so I really needed it to be on time. A few minutes after boarding, the captain announced that, because of the air traffic in Charlotte, we wouldn't take off until 9:00 (I had a 10:23 connection). I asked the flight attendant if I could still make it, and they said I should, since the flight from Charleston to Charlotte is only forty minutes.

So we sat for thirty minutes on an airplane without AC (the cabin was so hot!). At 9:05, the pilot announced that one engine had broken, so we had to return to the gate and get rebooked. There was no way I would make my connection then, so AA pushed me to a 1:44 flight to Bangor, Maine, instead of the 10:23. The flight out of Charleston was delayed to 11:40, so I thought, Eh, I can still make it. I wasn't too worried, but then the plane was marked "Out of Service," and it got delayed to 3:00 PM instead. That's when I started freaking out and joined the other passengers to see what I could do.

MAINE STORY CONT.

A couple was with me, and only one seat was left on the 12:00 flight to Charlotte. One! The couple didn't want to be separated, so I got that last seat (it was incredible!). However, the 12:00 flight got delayed to 12:35, so I was like, What the heck? Can I even make the 2:20 flight now, too? I had to go from Gate E all the way to Gate A or B in Charlotte (that was like a fifteen-to-twenty-minute walk. When I got off in Charlotte and asked the gate agents, AA had already rebooked me on an 8:00 flight to Washington, DC, and to Bangor from there. I wouldn't have gotten there until after midnight. After that, I was like, "No! I am not making my parents drive an hour to come get me that night. I am getting to Maine today!"

The gate agents at Gate E told me I might still make it if I ran, so I hauled ass through the airport with my carry-on and luggage. By the time I finally made it to the new flight, they were boarding the last few groups and didn't let me get on at first because I had already been rebooked. So I, out of breath and coughing up a storm, told them, "Look, I was stuck for five hours in Charleston, only for that flight to get delayed, too. The gate agents at E told me I could probably still make the 2:00 flight if I ran. I don't care what you do, but you are getting me to Maine today. The agents told me so." I was like the mom in Home Alone--LOL! It worked, though. They put me back on the flight, and I finally made it to Bangor at 7:00 at night--LOL! Hey, I did get something from this story: I can stand up for myself if I need to.

I want to write a short story about this so bad! I think I'm going to keep that title: American Horror Story II. :)

Good morning, y'all! My Shortys 2026 entry, Bittersweet, is up! I hope you enjoy it, even though it's a little dark. I may have a second entry inspired by something during my Maine trip, but that depends on whether I can finish it by the end of this month. If not, that's fine, but I can't wait to share a little memoir piece about my "wonderful" adventure at the airport on my way to Maine. I'm dubbing it "American Horror Story II". :)

Good evening, guys! I finished editing the latest chapter of Ashes of The Way! It's now 2,500 words. The next chapter will be very important, and then I'll have the final chapter. I've also uploaded one more short piece, which concludes my uploads for this month. Next month will be busy, but I'll still finish Ashes of The Way and check in occasionally.

Love you all, and may the Force be with you!
