I'm still learning how all of this works and what readers like, so this means a lot  I’ll try to improve with each story 
            

@CryBabyChapters Heya, so since you seem nice, I thought I’d give you some advice to help get your books noticed. 
            
            When I started writing, what I did was upload at least 2 or 3 *completed* stories since most readers prefer completed fics rather than ongoing.
            If they see you have a few completed works, they can trust your ongoing work to be finished within a decent time frame.
            
            I think it took a month or two to get my first follower & a few reads on my first fics. I’ve never once posted my fics on anyone’s message board or in the comments of other’s fics, never done read4read or vote4vote either. I just waited for someone to find my work.
            
            Update regularly whether it be once a week or 2-3x a week. Try not to keep updates too far apart as ppl can lose interest & forget what’s happening. 
            
            Another thing is sex sells. 
            My most popular fic is called ‘Just a Sl*t’, and I’m pretty sure ppl are only attracted to it coz of the ‘sexy’ title & cover. The story itself & my writing is pretty bad (in my opinion anyway lol) But again, sex sells. 
            
            This also means having smut. It’s one of the best ways to gain views & followers. Honestly, my older fics have really bad smut compared to my more recent works, but they still gained traction. 
            
            Also, having too many chapters can be off putting to readers. From what I found, readers like it when it’s under 50-60 chapters, & I prefer this too. If the story is too long, there might be unnecessary chapters where readers can get a little bored. 
            
            Correct tags also help. I saw your fic has Jungkook & Namjoon, so use tags like: jeonjungkook, jungkookff, btsjungkook, btsnamjoon, btsfanfic, jungkookfanfic. Don’t worry about useless tags like maturelanguage, maturethemes or fantasyromance —you want to use tags that BTS ARMY’s will search for.

Just to be honest, I didn’t think of checking bios every time before sharing — I usually just do it when I genuinely enjoy someone’s work and feel inspired.
