          The one who's always smiling.
          The one who makes everyone laugh.
          The one who's constantly asking everyone else if they're okay.
          
          Sometimes the people who look the happiest are carrying the heaviest burdens.
          
          Not everyone shows their pain. Not everyone cries in front of others. Some people become experts at hiding what they're going through because they don't want to worry anyone or feel like a burden.
          
          So send that text.
          Ask that question.
          Make sure they know you're there.
          
          And when you ask if they're okay, don't just settle for "I'm fine."
          
          Ask if they're genuinely okay.
          
          Because sometimes the friend who brightens everyone else's day is desperately hoping someone will notice that they're struggling too.
          
          A simple "How are you, really?" could mean more than you know.
          
          
          Because I am that friend, and nobody asks me if I'm genuinely ok
