Starbound: The Black Nebula was awesome! I really enjoyed the characters and story, and I hope the sequel that was foreshadowed (if it comes out, no pressure) is as good, but that won’t be a high bar to pass for a writer as talented as yourself. Keep up the good work!

Well, not too much as it does explain most of canon things well in the story (such as the terrene protectorate, earths destruction and the villainous groups), but there’s some original things too. Either way, I’ll give you some things that will help you through the story.
1. The 6 main races you will see are Novakids, Florans, Hylotl, Apex, Glitch and Avians. I would recommend at least googling them to see what they look like, or even research them a bit
2. There are dozens of stars in the universe, and each star has several planets. It’s a star system, except the planets are usually all supportive of life.
3. Erchius Fuel is the fuel used for spaceships.
4. The Miniknog are the dictators of the apex race, but they have been defeated prior to the events of this fanfic.
5. This fanfic takes place 1 year after the main story.
Anyways, a few of my friends who know nothing about the story read it and loved it. So even if you do get confused a bit, simply google about what your confused about. Have fun reading!

I have to thank god that due to lurking on the Pure Evil wiki I learned about Inktopolis Chaos' existance, i saw Scarlet Spiker's page and i immedietly searched for the fanfic without even reading the page to prevent spoilers xD I'd love to see more of your works got featured on the wiki or any other wikis you're in :D
