Going back to wattpad these days is so weird to me. I got into this community during January 2020 before the pandemic hit, and when it did this was the only app I was on 24/7 just constantly reading fanfiction from amazing authors who had too much time on their hands.
But going back today is just filled with wattpad announcements from my notifications and that one author you’re following still making stories today, while the rest of the old fics you’ve read have been completed, dropped, or forgotten.
Suddenly you see all of the authors you admired and respected left the fanfiction industry and is off to college or simply stopping their writings or something.
It’s such a bitter feeling seeing the somewhat “golden age” of wattpad pass by despite me being considered a “new user” of this era. I know I don’t have a control or say over the lives of these people, but it’s hard to see how times are truly changing without us knowing. It’s either you adapt or get left behind.
This weird sappy message was written by me after discovering that I failed a subject and will most likely be retaking it next school year and it got me emotional and everything considering the emotional abuse I’ll be getting from my parents once they hear, so this whole message was kinda written at the spur of the moment ahaha
