Attention all users, this is a very controversial opinion that I have based on what has been happening on Wattpad.
          
          Challenge the argument, not the person.
          
          Although DMs on Wattpad have been extremely useful in sending private messages between friends and all, thing is (controversial opinion incoming) that removing Wattpad DMs may have been a good move by the company.
          
          And look, I'm sad about the DMs going away, however pedophiles, other sex offenders, right-wing extremists (worse than edgy kids being Nazis and stuff), convicted criminals, possibly human traffickers, and other types of criminals can get into people's DMs.
          
          A friend of mine nicknamed Coka posted a story where someone who is a "sugar mommy" as she said got into his DMs, and was asking him if she could hook up with him. Many of us are minors and under 18 (Coka is 15 at the time of the conversation [2024]), and this is one piece of evidence that there are pedophiles on Wattpad.
          
          Another one of my friends (I don't remember who's it was) posted a story where someone slid into her DMs and started typing out a whole sexual fantasy (My friend is a minor) and saying things like "I'll f*** your b***ch**ks and make you ***" and other disturbing things which horrified me and others, and this is another evidence of pedophiles on Wattpad.
          
          Then, there is one who is infamous within the Wattpad community. Her name was HannahLMAlexander, and she is all sorts of things. She's creepy, caught up in groups aimed to kill victims who don't comply with their commands (they will fly around the world to kill you) which is a threat that should be addressed. She keeps coming back under alt accounts, and watch out because you may have a target on your back. A friend of mine updated information about this, hopefully she replies.
          
          So yes, many of you are sad about the DMs getting removed from Wattpad, which I am too. However with the new evidence surfacing, I am beginning to realize that maybe the company made a good move.
